Multipartite entanglement in qubit systems
We introduce a potential of multipartite entanglement for a system of n qubits, as the average over all balanced bipartitions of a bipartite entanglement measure, the purity. We study in detail its expression and look for its minimizers, the maximally multipartite entangled states. They have a bipartite entanglement that does not depend on the bipartition and is maximal for all possible biparti...
متن کاملParametrization and distillability of three-qubit entanglement
There is an ongoing effort to quantify entanglement of quantum pure states for systems with more than two subsystems. In this paper, we consider three general approaches to this problem for three-qubit states: choosing a basis which puts the state into a standard form, enumerating “local invariants” (functions of the state which are invariant under local unitary transformations), and using oper...
متن کاملFreudenthal triple classification of three-qubit entanglement
We show that the three-qubit entanglement classes: (0) Null, (1) Separable A-B-C, (2a) Biseparable A-BC, (2b) Biseparable B-CA, (2c) Biseparable C-AB, (3) W and (4) GHZ correspond respectively to ranks 0, 1, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3 and 4 of a Freudenthal triple system defined over the Jordan algebra C⊕C⊕C. We also compute the corresponding SLOCC orbits. ∗[email protected] †duminda.dahanayake@i...
متن کاملThermal entanglement in three-qubit Heisenberg models
Over the past few years much effort has been put into studying the entanglement of multipartite systems both qualitatively and quantitatively. Entangled states constitute a valuable resource in quantum information processing [1]. Quite recently, entanglement in quantum operations [2–4] and entanglement in indistinguishable fermionic and bosonic systems [5–7] have been considered. Entanglement i...
متن کاملQuadratic bell inequalities as tests for multipartite entanglement.
This Letter presents quantum mechanical inequalities which distinguish, for systems of n spin- 1 / 2 particles ( n>2), between fully entangled states and states in which at most n-1 particles are entangled. These inequalities are stronger than those obtained by Gisin and Bechmann-Pasquinucci [Phys. Lett. A 246, 1 (1998)] and by Seevinck and Svetlichny [quant-ph/0201046].
